Researchers seek responses to culinary herbs survey

A team of researchers are using a USDA-SCRI planning grant to begin new research exploring fresh culinary herb production. 

The research term, which includes researchers from Michigan State University, Purdue University, Iowa State University, Clemson University, Kansas State University and the USDA-ARS are currently working on a USDA Speciality Crop Research Initiative grant to fund the project. The focus of the project will be on marketing, economic barriers, food safety, plant protection and post-harvest issues related to or affecting culinary herbs.

The research team is seeking answers to a survey to better understand the needs of the culinary herb-growing community. Growers already producing potted or fresh cut culinary herbs, or are interested in starting to grow them, can take the survey by clicking here. The last day to take the survey is Friday, Nov. 9.
