According to About.com, the Zucchini has only been an American food for about three decades. Zucchini is a member of the cucumber family and while it has been around for thousands of years (primarily in Central and South America) the variety that most Americans are now familiar with was developed in Italy.
Production:
Dunja - Organic, early, powdery mildew resistant. Dunja is a high yielder of dark green, straight zucchinis. Open plants and small spines make for an easy harvest. Intermediate resistance to powdery mildew, papaya ringspot virus, watermelon mosaic virus, and zucchini yellow mosaic virus. Organically grown.

Golden Glory is a spineless yellow zucchini. High-yielding plants with an open growth habit making it easy to harvest blemish-free fruit. Excellent disease resistance keeps the plant productive over a long season. Medium-dark yellow color. Intermediate resistance to powdery mildew, watermelon mosaic virus, and zucchini yellow mosaic virus.
