Greenhouse project to boost tomato farming in Kenya

Each greenhouse is expected to produce 30 tons of tomatoes.

 Greenhouses may soon bring tomato farming to Kenya.

The Kerio Valley Development Authority ( KVDA), under the guidance of Managing Director David Kimosop, has launched a $52,000 greenhouse project aimed at boosting farming in the Rift Valley. The project, to run in Nakuru, Samburu,Turkana, West Pokot, Baringo and Elgeyo/Marakwet, consists of five greenhouses per county with each expected to produce 30 tons of tomatos annually.
