Greenhouses may soon bring tomato farming to Kenya.
The Kerio Valley Development Authority ( KVDA), under the guidance of Managing Director David Kimosop, has launched a $52,000 greenhouse project aimed at boosting farming in the Rift Valley. The project, to run in Nakuru, Samburu,Turkana, West Pokot, Baringo and Elgeyo/Marakwet, consists of five greenhouses per county with each expected to produce 30 tons of tomatos annually.
