Biological crop protection and biocontrol solutions company Bioline AgroSciences announced Gerry Huygens has been appointed CEO of the company, effective Jan. 5.
Ludwik Pokorny, who has led Bioline AgroSciences through a phase of development and international expansion, will transition to the role of executive chair of the board.
"This strengthened leadership model supports Bioline AgroSciences’ ambition to be an even more reliable, agile and performance-driven partner for growers, distributors and strategic allies in a rapidly evolving market characterized by intense competition, at a time when agricultural systems face increasing pressure from climate change, regulatory evolution and market volatility," the company said in a news release.
Bioline AgroSciences, which operates in six countries, said Huygens brings expertise in scaling international businesses, driving operational excellence and leading complex transformations.
"His appointment reflects Bioline AgroSciences’ commitment to scaling solutions that deliver tangible value in the field, combining biological performance, operational reliability and close customer collaboration," the company said.

As executive chairman, Pokorny will remain actively involved in shaping Bioline AgroSciences’ long-term strategic direction, supporting the leadership team, managing key client and partner relationships and leading M&A and strategic development initiatives.
As , Gerry Huygens will have full responsibility for day-to-day leadership and execution.
