The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research is now accepting applications for a cash prize meant to reward international scientists working on the development of "sustainable food and diets for long-term human health."
The Premio Daniel Carasso is worth €100,000 ($137,600) and the winner becomes the Foundation’s ambassador until the next Premio comes around.
The reward program is titled the 2nd Premio Daniel Carasso and is open to scientists working in fundamental or applied research.
Applicants should submit their entries online, in English, between April 1 - June 30 2014.
Research work submitted should:
- Contribute to the emergence of sustainable food system;
- Incorporate at least 2 of the 4 pillars of sustainability that are environment, society, economics and nutrition;
- Combine different disciplines and bring together previously separate fields of enquiry; and
- Enjoy international recognitions. The applicants should have written widely about their work in international and national reviews (at least five publication) and have spoken at international scientific events.
