Generation Z is still a longway from being a commercial buying force. But the generation that will follow the Millenials, and is comprised of newborns to people age 23, has already been the subject of several studies, including culinary preferences.
It appears that Gen Z favors fresh, healthy ingredients over ready-made microwavables (the meal of choice for most Gen Xers). This trend is in line with a similar uptick in healthy and fresh eating by the Millenials, though Gen Z appears poised to devour even healthier foods en masse.
