Researchers at the University of Guelph’s Ridgetown campus are testing to see whether waste-water from greenhouses can be used to help grow vegetable crops.
John Zandstra says they’re in the middle of a two-year study to examine the effects of using the nutrient-rich liquid in a field setting.
In addition to testing it on the crops, they’re also analyzing soil and water samples to ensure that it complies with provincial and federal regulations for the environment.
