TEWKSBURY, Mass. (July 12, 2018) — Griffin announced today that it will open an all-new distribution center in Salem, Oregon in the coming months. The 24,000 square-foot facility will become the sixteenth branch location for Griffin, and the company’s first hard-goods warehouse on the West Coast.
“The Oregon distribution center fulfills our longtime goal of achieving coast-to-coast coverage with all parts of our product offer,” explained Craig Hyslip, chief operating officer at Griffin. The Salem branch follows the company’s hard goods and retail expansion into the Rocky Mountain region with the opening of its Aurora, Colorado facility in early 2017.
Inventory at the new Salem branch will focus on primarily hard goods, along with select retail products. Griffin indicates the product mix will include staples for greenhouse growers as well as nurseries. The warehouse will stock containers, fertilizers, chemical controls, poly film and other items to serve both segments. Specific items and vendors will be catered to the needs and preferences of growers in the Pacific Northwest region.
Griffin is set to open its Salem, Oregon branch in September.
