The greenhouses at Bangor Area High School are coming back to life.
With the help of students at Lafayette College's Technology Clinic, the greenhouses at the high school -- which for years have gone virtually unused -- are once again becoming an ecosystem, said Kevin Jackson, a junior engineering student at Lafayette.
Jackson and five other students have been at the forefront of the work, he said.
On Friday, the community was invited to plant seedlings and tour the greenhouses to see what progress has been made.
Dan Bauer, a founder of the Technology Clinic and professor emeritus of anthropology at the college, said students are picked from the four divisions of the college — science, engineering, social science and humanities — to come together to solve problems that are brought to the clinic.
He said with the range of disciplines coming together, it is less likely something important is missed.
