Hort Couture introduced its newly formed alliance that strengthens the Culinary Couture product lines, according to a press release.
Tozer Seed UK will be providing exclusive genetics to the Culinary Couture assortment beginning Summer 2018. This greatly expands the portfolio of novelty vegetables and herbs represented in the Culinary Couture program, according to the release
“Tozer is the market leader in specialty kale breeding and we are very excited to bring these genetics to the marketplace," Jim Monroe, CEO of Hort Couture, said. "They blur the line between ornamental and edible like no product line has ever. These are a new category for the IGC and specialty food grower. They are delicious and beautiful.”
Ball Seed will also have the exclusive rights to sell the EDIBLISS and HEADSTART Kale seed lines and all other Culinary Couture seeds. The liners will still be available from other brokers in the marketplace with production coming from Peace Tree Farm in Pennsylvania, Wenke Greenhouses in Michigan, Wenke Sunbeltin Georgia, Meadowlands Horticulture and Genesis Propagation in Canada. There are no packaging requirement for the Culinary products.
Tozer will also provide Kale, Basil, Pepper, Cabbage and other product lines as well to Hort Couture.
“Tozer is excited to collaborate with Hort Couture on novelty breeding. We will continue to focus our efforts on crop breeding and having many unique products to bring to the market through this new relationship,” Kraig Kuykendall, sales manager at Tozer Seed America, said.
