Spain-based protected agriculture solutions company Hydroponic Systems has launched its new double-hook adhesive trap for physical pest control in greenhouses.

The company says the trap's attachment and removal system allows for savings of more than 18 hours of labor per hectare and eliminates the need for thousands of meters of twine or string for installation.

"The savings in time and materials not only directly reduce farmers' operating costs but also simplify installation and removal processes, especially in intensive crops where the number of traps per hectare is high," the company said in a news release. "At a time when the agricultural sector is seeking efficiency, sustainability and precision, offering a tool that drastically reduces labor hours is a clear competitive advantage for any producer."

A key element of the new trap is its integrated double hook, which allows it to be placed in seconds without knots or staples. The system guarantees stable attachment even during spraying, fumigation or in conditions of intense ventilation, preventing falls and loss of effectiveness, the company said.

Made from 100% virgin, high-quality polypropylene with UV treatment, the trap maintains its shape without deforming under high temperatures, humidity or prolonged sunlight. Its adhesive covers a maximum active surface area, ensuring consistent and uniform capture throughout the entire growing cycle, even the longest ones, the company said.

The proprietary formula adhesive is also formulated to prevent any loss of adhesion. Both the sheet and its components are 100% recyclable.

Models are available in various colors and sizes. The trap is also available in a non-deforming polypropylene rollertrap version.
