On April 28, four French architecture students and Polarisk Analytics will debut a revised plan for a revolutionary hydroponics system.
The system will be constructed around a giant collection device for herding icebergs into a cresecent-shaped containment facility. As the icebergs melt, freshwater will be funneled into a hydroponic growing system and osmotic energy system. Combined with collections of solar panels, the ship is expected to power itself, while serving as a floating farm.
Plans call for the ship to deliver fresh fruits and veggies to coastal towns.
Unlike other sea-bound work stations (namely oil rigs) the crop ark will not separate workers and families. Instead, the vessel is designed to house 800 people; a feature added to ensure worker's mental health and well-being.
