Canadian grower Mucci Farms has announced its plan for this year's PMA Fresh Summit. The event takes place Oct. 17-19 in Anaheim, California.
Simple Snack
“In line with the hot topic of sustainability, we are continuing the push of our new Simple Snack series, which is a lineup of eco-friendly packaging to add to our comprehensive sustainability program,” says new product development manager Fernanda Albuquerque. “The packages are recyclable and home compostable with lidding film made from 100% backyard compostable materials. To take it a step further, the pack is made from agricultural waste which reinforces our commitment to environmental safety and social responsibility.
The sustainable packaging series was launched earlier this year and has undergone some branding changes. “We’ve kept the framework in place, but wanted to give the branding a more earthy and natural feel,” says Emily Murracas, director of marketing. “We also streamlined the information on the tray to illustrate the compost cycle and how to sustainably dispose of the package after use.” The lineup of packages will be on display in the New Product Showcase.
