There are generally a half-dozen herbs associated with Christmas, each having specific meanings of their own. They are:

LAVENDER – purity and virtue.

SAGE – immortality and domestic happiness.

HOREHOUND – good health.

THYME – bravery.

ROSEMARY – remembrance and Mary, mother of Jesus.

COSTMARY - called the Bible leaf' and symbol of everlasting life.
