The number one food trend in 2014 for restaurants and supermarkets will be lemons, according to http://srg.com/assets/pdf/releases/2013/SRG_Culinary_Predictions.pdf Sterling-Rice Group, which surveyed more than 100 famous chefs, restaurateurs, and foodies.
“Lemon is pure. Lemon is versatile. Lemon is nostalgic. For those reasons, it – and not other citrus – will be the flavor of next year,” said Kazia Jankowski, associate culinary director of “Lemon’s bright flavor ties into the cuisines of the Mediterranean, which are growing in popularity. Plus, it brings back memories of lemonade afternoons, Grandma’s lemon bars, and summer desserts with lemon meringue pie,” says Kazia Jankowski, associate director of Sterling-Rice Group.
