The Produce Marketing Association has added agribusiness specialist Olivia Wenger to its business development group.
July 22, Wenger joined the Newark, Del.-based PMA as its West Coast business development manager.
Based in California, Wenger plans to create, implement and connect PMA’s programs to the western U.S. and Canada’s members and will be responsible for member relations, sponsorship sales, event attendance and yearly partner relationship management, according to a news release.
She supervised member recruitment and retention for growers, shippers and farm labor contractors along California’s central coast as vice president of policy, member services and communications for the Grower-Shipper Association of Santa Barbara & San Luis Obispo counties.
Wenger also worked as sales and marketing director for her family’s Paso Robles, Calif.-based Limerock Orchards walnut farm.
“Olivia’s background and passion for agriculture, along with her professional drive and genuine desire to advance an industry she views as family is an asset to PMA and our members,” Anthony Barbieri, PMA’s vice president of sales and business development, said in the release. “She possesses the ideal set of skills to help our members discover new ways to build businesses by leveraging the many year-round benefits of PMA membership.”
