Pure Flavor announces acquisition of MightyVine

The deal sees Pure Flavor establish a Midwest presence with a 30-acre facility.


Pure Flavor, the Ontario-based greenhouse operations, has announced that it has acquired MightyVine, a leading indoor tomato grower based in Rochelle, Illinois.

“We continue to see significant growth and demand for the Pure Flavor brand across North America which has prompted us to strategically invest in specific regions. The opportunity to add MightyVine to our family of growers will allow us to further extend our reach into the Midwest and beyond”, said Jamie Moracci, President & Partner, in the announcement.

Rochelle is located west of Chicago. The facility there is a lit 30-acre facility that provides year-round supply of tomatoes to Chicago and the surrounding area. '

The acquisition price and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Expanding our capacity with lit crop production enables us to service the Midwest with USA Grown Tomatoes, this further compliments our Southeast programs from our Peach County, Georgia facility,” Moracci said.

Pure Flavor's facility in Georgia opened in late 2018. Pure Flavor growers tomatoes-on-the-vine at the facility for retail & food service partners in Georgia, Florida, North & South Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama.

The MightVine acquisition is continues on a busy stretch for Pure Flavor. Previously, they acquired DeTemporada Farms in Dec. 2022 and then Cervini Farms C5 in Feb. 2023. The company also added a distribution center in McAllen, Texas.
