According to several reports, Russia is expanding its ban on imported fruits and veggies. The move comes in response to increased sanctions from both the United States and the European Union (EU), among other blocs of nations.
The expected move will likely effect the EU. According to the BBC, Russia buys fruit and vegetables from the EU worth an annual 2bn euros ($2.7 billion).
Polish fruits and veggies were banned by Russia last week. Cattle and beef imports from Romania, Ukranian juice and dairy products, and Australian beef have also been banned. Some are speculating that Russia may target the U.S. poultry market and Greek fruits.
